Bernard & Merrill, PLLC welcomes John B. Schulte to its team of attorneys. Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Schulte practiced as an in-house trial attorney and later advanced to oversee the litigation offices in New Hampshire and Maine for a large insurance company. He brings extensive experience in litigation management, workers’ compensation, and personal injury matters. Attorney Schulte will focus his practice on workers’ compensation defense and personal injury litigation. We are excited to welcome John to the firm and look forward to the experience and dedication he brings to our clients and team.

After 16 years of dedicated service here at Bernard & Merrill, PLLC, we proudly announce the retirement of Margaret (Meg) Sack.

Meg graduated from Saint Michael’s College (B.A. 1982) and attended New England School of Law (J.D. 1987) where she graduated cum laude.

Since joining Bernard & Merrill, PLLC in 2009, Meg has been a driving force behind the firm’s success and client relationships. In 2018, Meg became a partner of the firm, continuing her dedication to workers compensation law. With a sharp legal mind and unwavering professionalism, she brought insight, integrity, and leadership to our practice and to the broader legal community.

Her contributions have shaped the culture and values of our firm, and her mentorship has left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.

As Meg transitions into retirement, we extend our deepest gratitude for her years of dedication and excellence. While she will be greatly missed in the daily life of the firm, we look forward to continuing her dedication to workers’ compensation law, representing self-insured employers, third-party administrators and workers’ compensation insurance carriers.

Kevin Stuart presented at the annual NH Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Update on September 21, 2023. Kevin addressed Workers’ Compensation updates. The Conference was held at the New Hampshire Bar Association Seminar Room in Concord, NH.

Bernard & Merrill congratulates Attorney Becher on his appointment of vice-chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section for the New Hampshire Bar Association. Membership in one or more of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s sections provides an opportunity for improving knowledge and skills in a particular practice area. The Workers’ Compensation Section usually meets quarterly to update members on changes and recent developments in this area of the law.

Bernard & Merrill, PLLC  is pleased to announce Michelle A. Broadhurst as the firm’s newest partner.  Michelle has been an associate at Bernard & Merrill, PLLC since 2017 and is a 1991 graduate of Syracuse University and a 1997 graduate of Suffolk University Law School. Ms. Broadhurst joined Bernard & Merrill after practicing in private firms and as in-house counsel for a large insurance company, where she specialized in insurance defense and complex workers’ compensation matters.  Michelle continuously provides exceptional service and value to our clients and we look forward to her contributions as a partner of Bernard & Merrill, PLLC.
