Attorneys Andrew A. Merrill and Margaret P. Sack will be presenting at the Workers’ Compensation for the Experienced Practitioner Seminar hosted by the New Hampshire Bar Association on March 16, 2012. Topics will include legal updates, lump sum settlement evaluations, liens and the hearing process. Although the seminar is geared towards the experienced workers’ compensation practitioner, it will benefit attorneys with all levels of experience.
Attorney Kevin W. Stuart Appointed to the Town of Auburn Zoning Board of Adjustment
Attorney Kevin W. Stuart has been appointed to serve as an alternate member on the Town of Auburn’s Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Zoning Board of Adjustment reviews applications for certain land uses and whether to grant exceptions to the zoning ordinances in Auburn, New Hampshire.

Bernard & Merrill Attorneys to Present at NHAA Spring Conference
On behalf of the New Hampshire Adjusters’ Association, Bernard & Merrill is presenting the annual spring conference on April 28, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua, NH. Attorneys Daneke, Harding, Merrill and Weinstein are presenting on topics including legal updates for workers’ compensation and liability and return to work issues.
Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and the conference begins at 8:30 a.m. The seminar affords 6 CE credits. You can sign up through the NHAA website, www.nhadjusters.org. The cost is $150 for members; $200 for non-members. Lunch provided at the hotel is included in the cost of the seminar.

Attorney Merrick C. Weinstein Joins Firm
Merrick C. Weinstein, formerly a partner of Nyquist Weinstein law firm, previously known as Devine & Nyquist, is a new associate of the firm, Bernard & Merrill.
Attorney Weinstein is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook cum laude and of the Boston University School of Law cum laude and has practiced law in New Hampshire since 1983. He has an extensive legal background in matters of insurance, personal injury, and workers’ compensation. Weinstein is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
In his free time, Weinstein has volunteered his time and expertise as a mediator for both the New Hampshire Superior Court and the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. He is an active tournament bridge player, member of the American Contract Bridge League and teaches bridge to beginners. Weinstein lives in Manchester with his wife and two children.

Attorneys Bernard & Merrill to Present at the NH Adjuster’s Association Fall Claims Conference
Attorneys Eric P. Bernard and Andrew A. Merrill will be presenting at the NH Adjuster’s Association Fall Claims Conference in November 2009. Attorney Bernard will be speaking on topics pertaining to the New Hampshire Labor Department hearing process, RSA 281-A: 48, Review of Eligibility for Compensation, and unsettled issues concerning attorney’s fees, interest and costs. Attorney Merrill will discuss NH Supreme Court cases impacting workers’ compensation law and practice, as well as statutory and regulatory changes over the past 12 months.
Attorney Daneke Appointed to Serve on Manchester’s Planning Board
Attorney Donna M. Daneke was appointed to serve on the City of Manchester’s Planning Board in the spring of 2009. The Manchester Planning Board hears applications for subdivision, site plans, planned developments and conditional use permits. The Planning Board also works on long-range plans such as the community master plan.
